✨ Tunza — your AI care assistant

What it is

TukoCare is built around Tunza — Swahili for “to care for” — an AI care assistant that knows your loved one’s whole care record — visits, notes, medications, schedule, needs and the care blueprint. Open it from the ✨ Tunza tab in the middle of the app.

Ask it anything

“How has Mom been sleeping?” “Any concerns this week?” “What meds are due today?” It answers from the actual care logs, with dates — and says so honestly when something isn’t in the notes.

Tell it to do things

The assistant can run the app for you: add care tasks and shopping/needs items, add or remove medications, log a med as given, schedule or cancel visits, update the care blueprint, post a message in the family chat, even switch dark mode. Caregivers get a scoped version (tasks, needs, med log, messages). It can never touch billing, passwords, sign-ins, or delete anything permanent.

It remembers your family

Say “Mom hates showers in the morning” and it keeps a memory note — honored in every future answer, on every device. Memory lives with your circle’s encrypted data and is deleted with it.

More AI, built in

Family ($9.99/mo) adds daily visit summaries, urgent-note triage in family-friendly wording, ask-anything about the care, and summaries in your family’s language. Premium ($19.99/mo) adds early-warning trend detection, the Living Legacy story recorder, appointment-card photo scan, caregiver ghost-writer & warm daily audio recap, and doctor-visit prep. Every new account gets all of it free for 14 days.

For families

Create your first care circle

Open the app and choose Get started (or sign in with Google/Apple). The app is free forever — visits, photos, schedules, meds reminders and family messaging — and Tunza AI is free for your first 14 days (then Family $9.99/mo or Premium $19.99/mo; no card needed to start). Make a circle for your loved one, then invite family and caregivers.

See visits, updates & photos

The Updates tab shows the last 12 hours; search or “Show older” to see the past 30 days. Each visit shows the check-in time, whether the location was confirmed, the care checklist, notes and photos.

Invite a caregiver two ways

By email (People → Invite) so they get their own login, or with a caregiver link (People → Caregiver link). A caregiver link opens only this circle — never your other loved ones — signing out ends their access, and you can turn the link off any time.

Set the visit location

In People (as the circle admin), set the place (city, area or address) and optionally tap “Use my current location” to add a GPS pinpoint. Check-ins are then matched against it — no paperwork required.

Schedule visits

The Schedule tab lets family or caregivers add one-time or repeating visits (e.g. a grocery run at 10pm). When one is due it appears in Today’s care.

Turn on alerts

Settings → Notifications → Turn on alerts. You’ll be notified when a caregiver checks in, posts a photo or note, or messages the circle. Download the TukoCare app to get alerts on your phone.

Download your data

Circle owners can download a printable record (visits, notes, photos, messages) from People → Download all data. Open it and use your browser’s Print → Save as PDF to keep a copy.

Plans & billing

The app is free forever — visits, photos, schedules, meds reminders and family messaging never cost anything. Tunza AI is free for your first 14 days, then it’s a plan: Family $9.99/mo (AI daily summaries & smart alerts, ask-anything, summaries in your language) or Premium $19.99/mo (the full AI suite — early-warning trend detection, Living Legacy stories, appointment scan, ghost-writer, daily recap & doctor-prep). If you don’t subscribe, the AI simply pauses and the app stays free. Your family may also be sponsored free by an agency that uses Assign Smart — enter their code in Settings → “Cared for by an agency?”. Manage or cancel any time in Settings.

For caregivers

Joining a circle

Open the invite or caregiver link the family sent you and accept the Terms. A caregiver link shows you only that one family’s circle.

Checking in & out

On the Visit tab, tap Check in when you arrive. TukoCare asks to check your device location once to confirm you’re at the place — you can decline and still check in. Work through the care checklist, add notes or a photo, then Check out when you leave. Both send the family a note with the time.

Your privacy

TukoCare only checks your location at the moment you check in — never continuously. See the Privacy Policy and Terms.
